This is so pretty! There's so much attention to detail and it leaves the viewer imagining what could be in the book or how this could be used. It's very well-done and I can't wait to see what else you make!

I fully believe that this could be used as an amazing splash screen, with your indie game studio's name coming out of the book, before fading to black and transitioning to the main menu/start screen of a game. If not that, then certainly the beginning of a cutscene!

Unfortunately, the sheer concept of your game crashed my browser....even so, I can't be remiss in complimenting you about your modeling skills! especially those particles, you seem to have a lot of experience with modeling. This would make a great opening to your game, especially having the player approach and particles shooting out.

Going for a concept rather than actual game is a quite intriguing move as it highlights what could potentially be done in the game. As for how you could use it, perhaps you could potentially have an interactive element where if you hover the mouse over the book a text page will pop out and you can proceed through either clicking on parts or using key inputs. I am not sure how that would work since I have never done that in Unity but it is something to think about.

nice design~I would suggest you enable the "full-screen button" so as I could see the detail of what the book looks like!

The visuality of this looks so good—makes me wonder if its a tome of secrets, of spells, or power. The particle effect is a fun effect to evoke the magical nature of the item. Wondering if there’s intensify  the curiosity. Like if the player were to click something there’s some sassy text  that pops up

I am thinking of maybe you can add a little tenchique that allows the screen to move while the player is moving the mouse. It will make the visual stronger.

I wonder how long it took you to model this, but it looks really cool especially with the particle system!! I remember there being a game in Arcade1 where it was a globe that didn’t seem to do much, but it would slowly change overtime if you left it open. Because of that game I keep expecting there to be a small surprise like the book fluttering or some magical sparks to fly out of the book haha

I like the direction it’s in but maybe to add to the wonder of it I would have the pages turn by themselves or even the book transforming into another one every now and then.

I know that there's no interactivity on purpose, but what if you added a key that allowed you to turn aspects of the scene on and off, like the particles or light?

The book and pedestal are so magical. There's no interactivity but I truly really want to turn the page D: How long did it take to model the book and pedestal (it looks really good)? Do you have any initial ideas of what you would want to do with it if you decide to go with the approach of a text-based game?

This is gorgeous! The monochromatic purple and texture  reminds me of seacabel’s “mmm” poem generator’s backgrounds. In both games, this places focus on the emotions that those colors signify.

Beautifully made. I love the "lighting " of the asset, through the highlighted pages on contrast to the rest of the pedestal. It really draws you in and implies there's something there that is worth looking for and maybe even deviate from your otherwise planned path to go to.

I have a feeling you could use textmeshpro 3D object to overlay the pages to make it seem like there are floating words! That way there is nothing on the screen. It reminds me of my game for project 2 with the use of 3D models. I think you could get some inspiration from what I did with the mirror!

I think this game does inspire a sort of whimsicality you mentioned. The particles flying around it feel very reminiscent of a fantasy game, and purple is a color that is also very often associated with fantasy. Together you can imagine the story that might take place either through this book, or perhaps the book will take you to its story. I would love to see how you use this model in a future game.

The asset looks amazing and I love the particles flying off of it. It gives the game a very magical/whimsical vibe. It feels like the book is calling for you to come closer and read it, and when you do a whole new world of secrets will be revealed. Purple also reminds me of wizards and magic orbs so that also contributes to the feeling I get from this game.

Right now, there is no interactivity, but you suggested that it can be used potentially for a text-based game and I can see it! It'd be interesting if certain dialogue choices / branches were floating around in this black space, maybe even determining the contents/narrative found in the book.

If not, I think it'd be cool to also adjust the level/speed of particles. For instance, I was actually wondering how I could get the density of particles in that third screenshot, since I didn't ever seem to reach that point in my time waiting. But nice concept and design of the model!

I think this is a solid direction that you can take this game. I think this asset would work well in a point-and-click style game since those are very dependent on visuals, and adding text to it would make it more narrative driven.

What is the meaning behind the asset? How will it act in a text based game? I could envision a lot of different possibilities like the book has different powers on each page, or maybe the book is telling the story of the game being played that it’s in? Meta

The model looks great! And I really like the idea of combine 2d particle and 3D model and environment together.

This is really impressive. The itch.io page and the colors of the model are very cohesive. Would love to see this model in a game!

The experience of watching the particles come out of the book is really soothing. Overall the soft colors and smooth textures in a still book contribute to a total sense of peace.

The model is incredibly well made for an asset built from the ground-up. I always struggled with creating or finding assets to fit my vision, so I'm really envious of your ability to create such a nice and stylized model!
